Criteria:
Companion Animal, Equine and Food Animal Practitioner of the Year Award
The Practitioner of the Year Awards honors practitioners who are currently active in the field of veterinary medicine, members of the OVMA, have shown outstanding contributions to organized veterinary medicine in their specialty area, increased public awareness through their work or their actions and are active in OVMA and their community.Young Veterinarian of the Year Award
The Young Veterinarian of the Year Award honors a practitioner who has graduated from veterinary school within the past ten years, currently active in the field of veterinary medicine, member of the OVMA, have shown outstanding contributions to organized veterinary medicine, increased public awareness through their work or their actions and are active in OVMA and their community.
The Faculty-to-Practitioner Award recognizes service contributions by College of Veterinary Health Sciences faculty to Oklahoma veterinarians. Nominees should be faculty members of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Health Sciences and all its related departments. Nominees should provide outstanding services to Oklahoma veterinarians; give of their time and talent to the veterinary profession; be a leader who makes a difference to the profession; and is a dedicated contributor to organized veterinary medicine.Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award honors a veterinarian or non-veterinarian who has made significant contributions to the veterinary profession and/or well being of animals.
The Corporate Industry Representative award recognizes an individual who has exhibited outstanding service to the veterinary profession and the OVMA. This individual should consistently provide exceptional service to Oklahoma veterinarians and promote the profession through liaisons with the OVMA and veterinarians.
OVTA Technician of the Year Criteria
- Current Registration in Oklahoma
- Active Member of Oklahoma Veterinary Technician Association
- 3 years experience as RVT (post-graduation)
- Nomination by veterinarian or other employer
- Contributions to the veterinary profession as a RVT
- No repeat winners will be allowed
